Lets not beat around the bush with this one. The police probably won't like you too much. Why?
Well, first off, you're in a costume doing they're job and you don't have a badge.
Secondly, you're probably not going to stick around for questioning until the police are
comfortable with you. If you do stick around, you might have to say bye-bye to your
secret identity.
So how do you deal with the cops? Well there are a few things you need to remember:
So what's the best way to deal with the cops when starting out? There are a few options you can follow.
Option 1: If you stop any crime, try to make sure the police aren't contacted until after you've tied up the bad
guys. This will give you plenty of time to leave and the cops won't see you right away. You can also leave a
calling card (logo stickers or a card with your name, etc) this way.
Option 2: You don't need to wear a mask. You could listen to police scanners until you hear of something going
down, then jump into action. The police might not let you help out if you try to go in the same way
they go in, so you'd have to find a back door or open window. This might not be the smartest
way to fight crime, but you don't have to worry about secret identity. You might have to worry
about being mocked by the police though.
Option 3: Mail the police your logo and a letter saying that you're out to protect the city. Then follow Option 1.
The cops will have an idea of who you are, but they won't really know. You could also meet up with one officer and
let him/her see you. This person would be your police informant. They might tell you about police stuff
and they could tell the police anything you might need to tell them.
Option 4: If you're in a group of super heroes, you might want to start an official club or detective business. By
advertising in your local newspaper, you might not hit such a big media fiasco. You could 'accept donations' if you
needed to. This way, if someone needed help, they could call your group for assistance.
